Sodium chlorite is an inorganic compound that is often used as an oxidizing agent. It is mainly used in water treatment, in the paper and textile industry and in technical applications.

Why HDPE bottle?

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is a high-density plastic made from PE quality (polyethylene). It is resistant to sodium chlorite. Unlike glass! That is why we only sell sodium chlorite in HDPE containers.

Preparation
Make sure that the room is well ventilated, as chlorine dioxide gas escapes during the chemical reaction and you must not inhale it.
Caution Only mix small quantities, e.g. three drops each. Larger quantities produce large amounts of gas.

Procedure
Drop sodium chlorite (NaClO₂) and hydrochloric acid (HCl) in a 1:1 ratio into a clean, dry container (no metal). The dropper insert from our 100 ml bottles is suitable for this. Alternatively, you can use our Use a Pasteur pipette (rinse well with water after using each chemical).
After approx. 45 seconds you can add your desired amount of water and the resulting CDS is ready.
what is CDS ?

Finished Mychem CDS compared to the self-prepared CDS
One drop of NaClO₂ and HCI each corresponds to the effective quantity of eight drops of our finished CDS.
Example: 3 drops of NaClO₂ mixed with 3 drops of HCl = 24 drops of Mychem CDS

Purity
The CDS obtained by mixing NaClO₂ and HCl contains by-products from the raw chemicals and does not achieve the purity of our finished CDS.

The manufacturing process of our CDS is a special, complex Mychem in-house development using a gas injection process. This guarantees an unprecedented purity of very few µS/cm, similar to ultrapure water.
The result is our CDS purest form.

Sodium chlorite has a practically unlimited shelf life.

MYCHEM.CH's terms of delivery and payment are described in detail during the ordering process. Special delivery methods requested by our customers will be charged with a local surcharge.

Ordered items will be delivered as quickly as possible depending on availability. More precise delivery times are displayed with each item and at the end of the order process.

If an item is not available, we will inform the customer immediately. If non-compliance with a delivery or performance deadline is due to force majeure, unforeseeable obstacles or other circumstances for which we are not responsible, the deadline shall be extended accordingly. If the impossibility of delivery is due to the inability of the manufacturer or our supplier, both we and the buyer may withdraw from the contract if the agreed delivery date is exceeded by more than 3 weeks.

Delivery costs/free delivery
The delivery costs are calculated according to weight and shipping method and are shown separately in the order process.

From a net value of CHF 100.00, shipping is free of charge by "PostPack Priority" or A Mail.

General remarks
There are no delivery costs for personal collection.

The cost of standard factory packaging is included in the price. If special packaging is required or is necessary for the safe shipment of an item, the corresponding costs will be charged.
