Sodium chlorite is an inorganic compound that is commonly used as Oxidizing agent is used. It is primarily used in water treatment, the paper and textile industries, and in technical applications.
Applications:
• Water treatment and disinfection
• Paper and textile bleaching
• Chemical-engineering processes
• Raw material for the production of chlorine dioxide
Solution: 28% (based on total substances) or 25% (based on NaClO₂)
Why an HDPE bottle?
HDPE (high-density polyethylene) is a high-density plastic made from PE (polyethylene). It is Resistant to sodium chlorite. Unlike glass! That is why we dispense sodium chlorite exclusively in HDPE containers.

Preparation
Make sure that the Room well ventilated This is because chlorine dioxide gas is released during the chemical reaction, and you must not inhale it.
Attention Mix only small amounts, such as three drops at a time. Larger amounts produce large volumes of gas.
Implementation
Add a few drops of sodium chlorite (NaClO₂) and Hydrochloric acid (HCl) in a 1:1 ratio into a clean, dry container (not metal). The following is suitable for this: Dropper insert for our 100-ml bottles. Alternatively, you can use our Pasteur pipette Use (rinse thoroughly with water after using each chemical).
After about 45 seconds, you can add the desired amount of water and the resulting CDS Ready.
what is CDS ?
Ready-made Mychem CDS compared to the self-assessed CDS
One drop each of NaClO₂ and HCl is equivalent to the active amount in eight drops of our ready-to-use CDS.
Example: 3 drops of NaClO₂ mixed with 3 drops of HCl = 24 drops Mychem CDS
Purity
The substance obtained by mixing NaClO₂ and HCl CDS contains By-products from the raw chemicals and does not reach the Purity of our finished CDS.
The manufacturing process for our CDS is a special, elaborate Mychem's In-House Development by means of Gas Injection Processes. This guarantees an unprecedented level of purity of just a few µS/cm, comparable to ultrapure water.
The result is our CDS in its purest form.
Sodium chlorite has a virtually unlimited shelf life.
You can store sodium chlorite at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
Be sure to keep these out of the reach of children and pets.
