Three chlorine dioxide solutions 0.3 % in comparison
We have received an increasing number of inquiries from customers regarding the concentration of our Mychem chlorine dioxide solution 0.3%:
The color as well as the smell of our solution was much more intense, more pungent than thechlorine dioxide solution 0.3 % from other manufacturers. This of course spurred on our professional pride: a comparative test was needed!
We ordered two competitor products at random.

Chlorine dioxideis a yellow gas that is dissolved in CDS water. The higher the gas concentration, the stronger the color of the CDS and the stronger the ClO2 leakage when the lid is open. The correct pH value of a CDS must be in the neutral pH range of approx. pH 7. Otherwise problems may occur during use. Low pH values also considerably shorten the storage period.
Analysis from 06.02.2023: All 3 test bottles were opened for the first time on the day of analysis and professionally tested without any manipulation.
Results of third-party products:
The purchased CDS have analysis values that are half of the declared 3000 ppm (0.3%). In addition, their pH value lies in a range far below the neutral pH value of 7. The average sample is alarmingly low: pH 2.62 is a strong acid! Use with extreme caution!
General quality of competing products:
Customers sometimes send us a bottle of competitor products...
Conclusion: the most recent sample had a content of just 700 ppm instead of 3000 ppm!
We have never been given anything even close to a correct sample...
Mychem quality:
We make our CDS fresh weekly and check the ClO2 concentration with a professional analyzer. We test the pH value with a laboratory pH meter. Thanks to precisely defined production steps and the highest product and process quality, our CDS consistently achieves 0.3% or 3000 ppm and a pH value of around 7. These values naturally vary within a small range of around 5%.
Conclusion:
A pungent odor and the strong yellow color are an indication that a CDS really has the desired concentration. In this case, our CDS is at least twice as effective as that of our competitors, as they require several times the quantity for the same effect. Economy and quality are your advantages!
We hope we have been able to shed some light on the subject and look forward to having you on board with us!
