CDS comparison test
Three Chlorine dioxide solutions 0.3% in comparison
We have increasingly received inquiries from customers regarding the concentration of our Mychem chlorine dioxide solution 0.3%:
The color and smell of our solution is much more intense, more pungent than the Chlorine dioxide solution 0.3% from other manufacturers.
This naturally spurred our professional pride: a comparison test was a must!
We ordered two competing products at random.

Chlorine dioxide is a yellow gas which is found in the water of CDS is solved.
The higher the gas concentration, the stronger the color of the CDS and the stronger the ClO2 escape when the lid is opened.
The correct pH value of a CDS must be in the neutral pH range of approx. pH 7. Otherwise problems can arise during use. Low pH values also significantly shorten the storage time.
Analysis from February 6.2023: All 3 test bottles were opened for the first time on the day of analysis and professionally tested without any manipulation.
Results third-party products:
The purchased CDS show analysis values which are half of the declared 3000ppm (0.3%).
In addition, their pH value is well below the neutral pH value of 7.
The middle sample is alarmingly low: pH 2.62 is a strong acid! Extreme caution when using it!
General quality of competing products:
Customers sometimes give us a bottle of competitor products...
Conclusion: The most recent sample had a content of just 700 instead of 3000 ppm!
We have never been given anything even remotely close to a correct pattern...
Mychem quality:
Our CDS We produce fresh water weekly and check the ClO2 concentration with a professional analysis device.
We test the pH value with a laboratory pH meter.
Through precisely defined production steps and the highest product and process quality, our CDS constant 0.3% or 3000ppm and a pH value of around 7. These values naturally vary within a small range of about 5%.
Conclusion:
A pungent smell and the strong yellow color are an indication that a CDS actually has the desired concentration.
In this case, our CDS at least twice as effective as those of competitors, since they require several times the amount for the same effect.
