Bentonite is a natural mixture of various clay minerals formed by the weathering of volcanic ash. It was named after the first site where it was found near Fort Benton, Wyoming (USA).
The main component of bentonite is montmorillonite, an aluminum hydrosilicate from the group of phyllosilicates, which gives bentonite its special properties.
Special properties:
- Strong swelling capacity: When combined with water, bentonite increases its surface area many times over.
- High adsorption power: It can bind several times its own weight in pollutants.
- Ion exchange: Pollutants are effectively bound by exchanging ions - similar to zeolite, but with a slightly different mineral structure.
Chemical formula: H₂Al₂O₆Si
English: Bentonite Clay
Versions:
- Bentonite
- Bentonite Pheur (pharmaceutical quality)
Pheur / pharmaceutical quality - particularly pure quality, suitable for pharmaceutical applications, food additives, cosmetics production and other sensitive areas of use.
This quality is purer than conventional food quality.
Packaging:
Plastic jar with tamper-evident closure - store in a dry place
Bottled in Switzerland by mychem.ch

- Filtration: oil, wine, beer
- Pharmaceuticals & cosmetics: component of ointments, creams and masks
- Agriculture: soil additive, fertilizer
- Foundry & construction: Iron ore agglomeration, building and civil engineering
- Industry & technology: Rheological modification, binder, adsorbent, filler
💡 Tip: Pharmaceutical-grade bentonite is recommended for cosmetic applications such as face masks.
